The Department of War suspended CMMC Phase II third-party assessments on 2026-07-13 and stood up a CMMC Reform Task Force. On 2026-09-03 a class deviation memorandum directed contracting officers to remove Phase II third-party assessment requirements from active solicitations and existing contracts.
Phase I requirements remain in force: Level 1 (Self) or Level 2 (Self) may still be required as conditions of award. Baseline NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 compliance, the DFARS 252.204-7012 safeguarding obligation, the SPRS posting, and the annual affirmation are unaffected by the suspension. We do not market a C3PAO or DIBCAC designation, because third-party assessment is not currently the operative requirement. CMMC and certification-adjacent work is quoted only after a current-posture check.

LFC Federal is led by former Marine Corps acquisition officers and senior federal contracts executives with direct experience across DCMA, NAVSEA, DOE/NNSA capital programs, and major defense prime contractors. Additional principal biographies are available on request.
Douglas J. Henderson
Twenty-plus years leading federal contracts, federal procurement, subcontract management, and audit and compliance programs across the nuclear, defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors.
Built a fully integrated federal contracting organization from the ground up at a major North American construction firm, standing up contracts, subcontracts, procurement, audit, document control, and security as one function. Previously established a government services division for a nuclear fabrication company, taking it into DOE, NNSA, and DoW markets. Earlier directed procurement and the glovebox program at the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility, and served as a Contracts Manager at DCMA supporting DoW sustainment programs.
At LFC he is the primary interface with federal contracting officers and leads the firm's contract-file, compliance, and readiness work.
